Minister of Textiles and Jute and Awami League Presidium member Jahangir Kabir Nanak said that Bangladesh has reached an admirable height in socio-economic development in the last one and a half decades with
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s foresight and strategic policies. Along with this, the close regional, sub-regional trade, economic cooperation between India and Nepal is helping to further accelerate our economic growth. The strong foundation on which the Bangladesh-India relationship stands is considered a role model for neighborhood diplomacy worldwide.
He said these things while attending the friendship conference of the Indo-Bangla Friendship Association in Kolkata, India on Friday.
The jute minister said that the relationship between Bangladesh and India is written in blood. India gave unwavering support during our liberation war. Countless brave soldiers and people of India gave their lives for us. Provided shelter, food, medical care to 1 crore Bengali refugees. We got all the support from India including training and supplying arms to our brave freedom fighters.
He also said that we won the final victory on December 16, 1971 in the operation of the allied forces of Bangladesh and India. The history of Bangladesh is written in the blood of Indian martyrs and the blood of brave freedom fighters. The sacrifice of Indian martyrs in the liberation war of Bangladesh will be remembered from generation to generation in both the countries.
Jahangir Kabir Nanak said that we are getting support from India in the development progress of Bangladesh. Along with this, cultural and social cooperation is being strengthened in various fields between the people of both the countries. Bangladesh-India and Nepal relations are very significant in the political and economic context of South Asia.
