The Health and Family Welfare Minister, Dr. Samant Lal Sen, He said, We work with people’s lives. Life is one; once gone, there is no chance of correction. I am not in favor of closing all hospitals in Bangladesh.
But there is no objection if the hospitals comply with what they need.He said there is no use in talking about what happened in the past. My point is very clear: there will be hospitals. There will be private hospitals as well as government hospitals.
He said these things while talking to reporters after the inauguration of the 23rd International Scientific Seminar organized by the Bangladesh Medicine Society at a hotel in the capital on Saturday morning.The health minister said that an ICU could not be opened there.
Opening an ICU requires supporting documents. If you want to keep a heart patient, you need to do things to support him. The campaign we are on will continue; it will not stop. I will also go if necessary in between.
We want to reform and create a better health system so that common people get better treatment.Earlier in the seminar, the health minister said, ‘Prime Minister Shutrakar called me after the swearing-in ceremony at Bangabhaban and said, Why are doctors not being promoted? I gave you responsibility; arrange for promotion.
So, bear with me. I can’t change everything overnight. But I believe that if my doctor brothers are good and happy, then they can provide
service.Meanwhile, Health Minister Samanta Lal Sen spoke to the media after inspecting the patients admitted to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on Saturday in connection with the fire at Bailey Road in the capital.
He said six of the 11 burn victims admitted to the burn institute will be discharged within two days. However, the treatment of the remaining five will continue. Besides, the bodies of 43 of the 46 people killed in the incident have been handed over. One of the rest has no family yet.
The health minister said a medical board consisting of 17 members has been formed with me as the chief. The Prime Minister will bear the medical expenses of the remaining five. Their airways are burned. So nothing can be said about them now.
