Airport Armed Police Battalion Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Ziaul Haque said that the US Bengal Dubai flight landed in Dhaka on Wednesday (February 21)). At that time, a joint operation team of NSI-APBN-Customs was waiting in the Green Channel and beyond, according to information from the National Intelligence Agency. At approximately 6 a.m., all the passengers on this flight began to leave one by one. At this time, four passengers were stopped. They are Abdul Qadir (41), Md. Jewel Hossain (34), Ibrahim Khalil (40), and Khorshed Alam (42). All of them were passengers on US-Bangladesh flight BS 342.
They are asked whether they have gold or gold ornaments. During interrogation, they denied carrying any kind of gold. But having intelligence and suspecting the behavior of the passengers, the raiding party decided to search for them further. At that time, each of them received 316 grams of wet gold powder, 1 gold bar weighing 116 grams, and 94 grams of gold ornaments hidden in their clothes. Each passenger was carrying the same size and weight of gold, and each was found to have 526 grams of gold.
Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Ziaul Haque also said that Jewel Hossain is a resident of Patuakhali district, Ibrahim Khalil and Abdul Qadir are residents of Munshiganj, and Khorshed Alam is a resident of Gazipur. A case has been filed against the detained passengers at the airport police station.
