The 7th convocation ceremony of United International University was held. The event was held at UIU campus at 9 am on Sunday (February 25).
Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury, MP presided over the convocation ceremony on behalf of University Chancellor and President Md Sahabuddin as his representative .

In the President’s speech, Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury, MP said that if the students do not have skills, it will be difficult to ensure employment through higher education alone. For this, students need to acquire various soft skills, values and language along with higher education.
He also urged the fresh graduates to work for social change, economic development and modernization of the country in establishing themselves as global citizens.
In the convocation ceremony, 3 thousand 954 students were awarded graduation and post graduation degrees and four students were awarded gold medals for meritorious results.

Special guest Professor Dr. Muhammad Alamgir said to the new graduates that the knowledge and skills acquired today should not only be used for personal prosperity but also for the development of society or nation.
Professor Emeritus of BRAC University as the convocation speaker. Ainun Nishat congratulated the degree holders in the 7th convocation and wished them success in their careers as well as advised them to work devotedly for the welfare of the country.
UIU Board of Trustees Chairman Hasan Mahmud Raza said, UIU graduates will bring pride to their families and country through their professional endeavors and achievements.
UIU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Kashem Mia urged the students to be good people and devote themselves to the welfare of society and people of the country.
Vice Chancellors of various universities, members of the Board of Trustees of United International University, deans of all faculties, heads of departments, teachers, officials, journalists, academics and distinguished people from different levels of society were present in the convocation ceremony.
