Bucks overtake West-leading Timberwolves 112-107 behind 33 points from Antetokounmpo

Minneapolis, Minnesota (AP) – With 33 points and 13 rebounds, Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Milwaukee Bucks to a 112-107 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night, enabling them to win big coming out of the All-Star break.

At 39–17, Minnesota fell into a tie with Oklahoma City for the top spot in the Western Conference. Earlier on Friday, the Thunder defeated Washington 147–106.

After trailing by 17 points late in the third quarter, Anthony Edwards sank three 3-pointers in the last 1:58 to give the Wolves a late opportunity. However, Damian Lillard sealed the deal for the Bucks with a pullup 21-footer with 10.3 seconds remaining to give them a five-point advantage.

“You must resist the need to become overly consumed by the misses. Lillard, who finished with 21 points, 10 assists, stated, “I knew eventually they would fall.”
