23 Bangladeshis have been captured by BSF

23 Bangladeshis have been abducted by the Indian Border Guard Force-BSF from the border at Chagalnaya in Feni. The incident took place on Monday around 2:00 am at the border of Bangladesh-India border east of the 99-pillar Chagalnaiya border.

According to locals, on Monday night, hundreds of workers were carrying sacks of sugar with stars near 99 pillars in Samarganj, India and Bangladesh. At that time BSF chased them. Although many managed to escape, 23 workers including Mohsin, Emran, Rubel Hossain, Noor Karim were caught by the BSF.

 

According to Indian sources, Indian police have arrested 23 Bangladeshis from Samarganj, Srinagar police outpost area under Manubazar police station, Sabrum subdivision of South Tripura, India. They were sent to jail by the court on Tuesday (January 06) afternoon. That part of India is part of Bangladesh. Feni-4 BGB Company Commander Lieutenant Colonel Sheikh Mohammad Badruddoza said that he is aware of the incident. If the truth is found, legal action will be taken according to the rules, he said.

 

He said none of the relatives of the victims or the abductees have filed a complaint yet. Meanwhile, the relatives of the Bangladeshis detained by the BSF have submitted photocopies of their national identity cards and birth certificates to the BGB camp in Purwa Chagalnai.
