That’s another story
Fairytale of New York Written by Jem Finer, Shane MacGowan Starring The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl. It’s a strange mix of qualities. I don’t need a genre to stick to one thing, so the tonal variety doesn’t bother me, but the execution?
Not so much
The camerawork and acting? Top notch. The production design and writing?
Okay, maybe not *terrible*, but definitely lame
The feeling I got was, “People are stupid; they’ll never question themselves.” They’ll involve a bomb with some visual cliche or stage a huge public murder and, surprise!, no cops will show up. Just our crafty detective protagonist rummaging around for clues like it’s brunch with a murder mystery. It’s the kind of lazy stuff that makes a pedant want to cry.

That said, if you can silence the little voice in your head that whispers, “That’s not how the world works,” you might actually have a good time.
